Payment Application Certification
Certification of payment applications is a crucial element in ensuring security and compliance with industry standards.
In payment organizations such as VISA, Mastercard, American Express, China Union Pay, and Diners Club, certification
is a process that ensures that applications processing payment card data comply with the security requirements
set by these payment organizations.
The certification process consists of several stages:
The acquirer prepares their application for testing, ensuring that it meets all technical and operational requirements, and submits it to eSourcing S.A.
eSourcing S.A. conducts tests using test cards and UL Test Tools based on UL test scenarios and any additional requirements provided by the acquirer.
This stage involves analyzing test results and identifying areas requiring corrections. eSourcing S.A. provides the client with a report of the analysis.
Based on the test results, the application owner makes the necessary changes to the application and submits the updated version to eSourcing S.A. for retesting.
Tests are conducted again to ensure that the applied corrections are effective.
If no further issues arise from the tests, eSourcing S.A. requests a time window for final certification from the payment organizations. Upon successful certification, the application receives confirmation of compliance with the payment organizations' requirements, including PCI-DSS standards.
UL Test Tools play a significant role in the certification process. These are specialized tools
that allow testing and evaluation of applications for compliance with PCI-DSS
(Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) requirements. These tools help identify potential security
vulnerabilities and ensure that applications are protected against possible cyberattacks.
